The 21700 evolution of the classic C8 thrower platform: the familiar big-head format with more cell behind it, sold with Convoy's usual emitter choice at a rock-bottom price. The C8 family's virtues carry over — an anti-reflective coated glass lens that most budget lights skip, configurable firmware, and a snappy rear mechanical clicky reachable in any grip. Build is typical Convoy: not luxurious, perfectly satisfactory, and startling for the money.

The compromises also carry over. The head threads are unanodised, which among other things makes fitting a collar-style pocket clip difficult. There's no charging, no clip and no accessories, and buying means AliExpress. As with the C8+, it's a bag or vehicle light rather than something you'd pocket.

C8G or C8+?: The C8G takes a 21700 for more capacity and sustained output; the C8+ is the classic 18650 version. Same format and character — pick by which cells you already own.
Why do the unanodised threads matter?: Anodised threads allow mechanical lockout by a quarter-turn and make collar accessories grip properly. Bare threads mean neither works well — it's the C8 family's known corner-cut.
Which emitter should I choose?: An SFT-40 for maximum throw, or one of the high-CRI options if you'll also use it close up. Convoy's menu is the reason to buy from them.
Anything to do before first use?: Same as the C8+: snug the lens ring and both caps. Some units ship loose, which causes flicker.
