A dedicated thrower and a slimmed-down revision of the L21A, running a Luminus SFT-40-W — a domeless emitter with a four-bond-wire design that takes 10+ amps without complaint. Measured ANSI throw is around 1,300 m, which puts it among the best in its class at any price. The driver deserves mention: a 22mm 8-amp buck driver originally designed for Osram Boost HX lights, pressed into service here and working well. Tailstand is stable.

Convoy's warranty is informal but effective — Simon will send you the parts to repair a light, and reviewers describe the customer service as legendary. The limitations: the body texturing isn't aggressive, so it's slippery when wet; the only carry option included is a basic lanyard; there's no charging and 21700s with built-in charging won't fit, nor will protected cells; and the Biscotti interface is basic next to modern firmware.
