The same quad-emitter D4V2 in a 21700 tube, and the longer body changes the light's character more than the spec sheet suggests: more capacity, more thermal mass to absorb heat before the driver steps down, and consequently longer usable output. If the standard D4V2's biggest practical limitation is that turbo lasts seconds, this is the version that partly addresses it.

Everything else carries over. You configure emitter, tint, body material and switch; it runs Anduril; long-term owners report excellent fit, finish and reliability, with several buying a second after the first proved itself. The friction is the same too: ordering goes through intl-outdoor with long lead times, Anduril takes a session with a diagram before it clicks, and there's no onboard charging on most configurations.

Questions people ask

Is the 21700 version worth the extra size?: If turbo stepping down in seconds bothers you, yes — the extra aluminium absorbs more heat before the driver intervenes, and the cell holds far more energy. If pocketability matters more, stay with the 18650.
Does anything else change?: No. Same emitters, same firmware, same aux LEDs, same configuration menu. It's the same light in a longer tube.
Which emitter should I pick?: A high-CRI option in the 4000K to 5000K range suits most people — the 519A and E21A are the tint favourites. Pick a cooler high-output emitter only if you want maximum lumens.
Where do I buy it?: Through intl-outdoor, Hank's own store. It isn't sold on Amazon, and you'll be presented with a configuration page rather than a product listing.
