Acebeam Terminator M1 2.0

Acebeam/Thrower

Acebeam Terminator M1 2.0

Four lights in one head: a 3,900-lumen quad-LED flood, a zoomable LEP that throws a 656,000-candela laser beam 1,620 meters, a combined mode, and a tactical red channel — all picked via a magnetic control ring. The 2026 refresh of Acebeam's cult-hit hybrid bumps output and packs a swappable 5600mAh 21700 with USB-C. There is genuinely nothing else like it under $300.

Beam profile

Pencil thrower, about 5.0° wide. A tight, far-reaching column with almost no spill.

What owners report

Acebeam Terminator M1 2.0/5 sources reviewed

A genuine hybrid: an LED head and an LEP head in one body, and — uniquely, as far as reviewers can find — the LEP element is focusable, adjusting the beam from 3 to 16 degrees. The LED side gives a beautiful bright flood at up to 3,500 lumens reaching 231 m; the LEP side throws a remarkably tight, cinematic beam up to 1,600 m, roughly an unobstructed mile. Build quality is top-notch, and reviewers consider it good value at around $280 for something nothing else does.

The design quirks are specific. You can't run the LED and LEP at once. There's no indicator showing which source is selected when the light is off, so you find out by switching on. Laid on its side it rocks, because the LEP head is slightly wider than the LED head — a small thing that reviewers found uniquely annoying. The lanyard is too short to go round a neck. And one owner reported artefacts appearing on the inner surface of the LEP focusing lens over time.

Consistently praised

  • True hybrid — LED flood and LEP throw in one body
  • The LEP element is focusable from 3 to 16 degrees, which nothing else offers
  • 1,600 m of LEP throw, roughly an unobstructed mile
  • 3,500 lumens of LED flood for close and mid-range work
  • Top-notch build, and good value at around $280 for a unique capability

Common complaints

  • The LED and LEP can't be used at the same time
  • No indicator of which source is selected while the light is off
  • It rocks when laid on its side because the heads are different widths
  • The lanyard is too short to wear round the neck
  • One owner reported artefacts forming inside the LEP focusing lens over time

Questions people ask

Why would I want both LED and LEP?
They do opposite jobs. LEP gives extreme reach from a tiny beam with almost no spill; LED gives usable flood. Carrying one light instead of two is the entire argument for this design.
What does focusable LEP mean?
You can widen the laser-phosphor beam from a 3-degree pencil to 16 degrees. Fixed LEP lights give you one narrow beam and nothing else, so this is a genuinely uncommon feature.
Can I run both heads at once?
No. You select one or the other, and with no off-state indicator you won't know which until you switch on.
Is it worth $280?
Reviewers think so, on the grounds that nothing else combines these capabilities. If you only need one of the two beam types, a dedicated light will do it better for less.
