Impressively small and light for an 18650, with Zebralight's usual potted electronics and regulated output. The XHP35 HI gives a very even 4500K tint with very little green — not high CRI at around 80, but clean, and the HI emitter throws considerably further than the floody SC64c. Runtimes are extraordinary: Zebralight rates up to four months on the lowest setting. Thermal behaviour is well judged too, peaking at 44.7°C in testing and never becoming too hot to hold.

The criticisms are the brand's standard ones. The interface — click counts and timing — is frustrating until it's learned. There's no magnet, though owners commonly add one to the clip or tailcap. And the active temperature control means output depends on ambient conditions: cool the light and it runs brighter, at the cost of battery life.

Questions people ask

SC64w HI or SC64c LE?: The HI throws further with a cleaner, cooler beam at around 80 CRI. The LE is floody with better colour rendering. Choose the HI for outdoors and distance, the LE for close work.
Why does the output vary?: Active temperature control pushes output as high as thermal headroom allows. In cold conditions or a breeze it runs brighter; in a warm pocket it throttles sooner. That's deliberate, not a fault.
Can I add a magnet?: Yes, and many owners do — either in the clip or stuck to the outside of the tailcap. It isn't fitted as standard.
Is 80 CRI good enough?: It's fine for general outdoor use and the tint is unusually even for the figure. If you want colours to look genuinely accurate, a 90+ CRI light will please you more.
