Nitecore/EDC
A 2AA penlight that throws 255 meters. The MT2A Pro's UHi 20 LED and included USB-C rechargeable Li-ion pack push 1000 lumens from a slim dual-fuel body that still runs on plain AAs in a pinch. The modern answer to the classic 2AA Maglite.
Beam profile
Thrower, about 16° wide. Reach first: a small hotspot that puts light a long way out.

Nitecore MT2A Pro/4 sources reviewed
A dual-fuel penlight running either a rechargeable lithium cell or ordinary AAs, at 1,000 lumens and 255 m of throw — figures reviewers describe as superior to other AA lights on both brightness and battery life. Build quality draws consistent praise: well made, a finish that's neither glossy nor chalky, and no battery rattle, which reviewers pointedly contrast with some Olight models. At 3.45 ounces with a two-way clip it carries easily.
Two things to understand before buying. The light relies on the cell's own protection circuit rather than having low-voltage protection in the driver — so when the battery cuts out you can't restart the light until you swap or recharge it. And the mode set depends on your power source: three modes on the supplied lithium cell, only two on AAs.
