The finish quality is excellent, with horizontal grooving for grip, and everything unscrews for easy access, which suits the modding this light invites.

The caveats: turbo is less impressive than a quad suggests, because a 12A FET into four emitters mostly makes heat — it gets very hot at 100%. Some buyers expecting a hotspot find the pure flood disappointing, so know what you're ordering. And one reviewer found the modes misbehaved with the bezel fully tightened, fixed by backing it off slightly.

Is it a flood or a thrower?: Pure flood, by design — maximum spill with no real hotspot. If you want reach, this is the wrong Convoy; if you want beautiful wide light for walking, it's exactly right.
Which optic should I choose?: Convoy sells several TIR beam angles. The wider options maximise the flood character; the narrower ones claw back a little reach at the cost of the even wash that makes the light special.
Why does turbo underwhelm?: The FET driver dumps current into four emitters, which mostly produces heat in a tube this size. Sustained levels are where the light lives — turbo is a brief party trick.
What's the bezel quirk?: One reviewer found modes didn't work correctly with the bezel fully tight, resolved by backing it off a fraction. Worth knowing if yours misbehaves out of the box.
